Ricola Collection. The new guide to the corporate art collection.

Homage to Emil Richterich-Beck

Currently on show at the Ricola headquarters in Laufen is a painting by Cuno Amiet (1868–1961) presented together with a chest that formerly belonged to Emil Richterich-Beck (1901–1973). This homage to the founder of the company is being exhibited in the same building as that which he had converted into a factory with private residence in 1949. Acknowledging Richterich-Beck’s commitment to local arts and culture, the writer Albin Fringeli hailed the Laufen-based entrepreneur, collector, and patron of the arts as the “cultural custodian of the Laufen Valley.” It was to commemorate his life’s work that his two sons, Alfred and Hans Peter Richterich, founded the Ricola Collection in 1975.
